I was in the boot...

Welcome to Italy!!!
This ia my trip through Italy.  2 weeks all crammed into one lil post. ENJOY

FLORENCE

The largest jar of Nutella Ive ever seen.
First day! The Duomo. A stunnning cathedral. I spent the rest of the day wandering through the city.
I met a couple from California and we went to the top of Michelangelo square to see the sunset.  This is Florence!

Tuscany Tour. We went to Sienna, San Giminanio and Pisa.  I met Susan (From Auz) and Chris (from London) on the bus.
Cinque Terre. A cluster of 5 towns connected by a trail system. The other town is just around that mountain...if you look close you can see people on the trail

3km and 2 hours up a mountain!
Totally worth it

 ROME

First night I got lucky and caught the ruins at sunset. I have no words

Trevii Fountain, Really big and pretty and PACKED with tourists

Colosseum!! Amazing! so huge

This was the day I went to St. Peters and teh Vatican Museum. This is  St. Peters square and the Cathedral

I also got entrance into Palentine Hill with my Colosseum ticket. This was one of my favourite visits.

View from Circus Maximus.

NAPLES

The hostel I stayed at was called the Welcome Inn. A Canadian did all the grafiti. REPRESENT!
The only thing on my to-do list.
The lovely people I met! Mateaus is from Argentina, and Jenny and Nick are siblings from New Zealand. They are the only reason I enjoyed Naples. This is very early btw. We caught the 730am boat after a night out drinking to go to...
Capri!
Good times

VERONA

Me and Michele, my CS host. He dropped me off at the station in the morning so I could spend the day in Verona while I waited for my 5 pm train to Switzerland
Verona also has a colosseum! and a museum... I skipped those though. They just dont compare to Rome
After eating my salad, I made my dinner for the train ride. I learned how to save money! It only took a few weeks
Juliettes balcony.
Verona is a pretty quiet town, there wasnt much to see...

VOILA. Thats Italy. Im actually glad to be out of there. The men were very aggressive and forward and it got uncomfortable sometimes. Mostly it was just annoying. The people are also not as friendly, especially in the South I found. The food was ok - streets lined with restaurants and pizzarias. Gelato all over the place and enough Tiramisu to kill a kid. The weather was incredible the entire time! It rained once in Rome but I was on the subway.  The transportation is pretty good, the local train will get you anywhere and its pretty cheap.

Ive been gone for almost 3 months now and im starting to count the days I have left in the EU. I have to be back to the UK by July 28th, then see how it goes from there. But for now, im in Lugano Switzerland. Its a small city right on the lake, close to Italy (so I can have that lasagna I missed out on!) and surrounded by mountains. Its incredible. Im staying with a girl I met through CS for one more night, then I head to Zurich! After that, GERMANY!! cant wait.

  2. Enjoyed these pics Kelly. You have been pretty lucky meeting up with good people but of course there is always some dirtbags and creeps you will run into. Keep safe. I know you can look after yourself.
